Snack #video

snack video important? Because Americans eat 150 billion candy hearts each year.

Thousands of drunk people celebrate St. Valentine’s Day by getting excessively drunk, while others turn to alcohol to dull the sting of a bitter breakup. Many others come to the party straight from work, leaving their romantic dreams behind as they destroy their dinner with messy drunk romance and garbage crunches.

And while most men and women understand that celebrating Valentine’s Day the right way can actually help reinforce positive behaviors and create lasting relationships, millions of young men and women across the nation still don’t know the dangers of celebrating a holiday that is already overloaded with unrealistic expectations.

When I was younger, many people actually got drunk and made out with a Valentine’s Day fling during a raucous binge. It wasn’t until I got a little older that I realized that I didn’t really love that person, that I didn’t really like how I felt when I was with them. When I went home and cried, my mom explained that it’s hard to love somebody who is causing you to feel weak. It’s hard to love somebody who makes you feel less than you are.

But love is hard. And being in love is even harder. That’s why I encourage everyone to skip the romantic crap this year. Choose a date on a random night of the week to show that special person you care, that you care about them enough to want to do something special and spend a moment with them.

Of course, not all dates are ideal. I’m not saying that you have to stop being in love and instead date random strangers on the internet or invite friends to smoke pot at your apartment to show how romantic you are.

But be smart. Break off the emotional tie to the person you love for an hour or so on a random night of the week and show them that you love them in a positive way that doesn’t rely on being drunk.

When you show them that you care in the right way, they will love you back, and then you can break off that romantic tie. And then you can sit back and laugh, like I did when I saw the drunk dating ban video.

Basically, everything in moderation is a great way to have a meaningful relationship. Don’t drink and drive, make out with a random stranger, or go on a drunken binge. And don’t pick a Valentine’s Day date from the airport snack food section. That’s the equivalent of ordering a monster pizza, and you’ll probably get the worst kind of drunk romance ever.

So try being romantic and find the love that truly matters.
