 How to create app shortcuts on Home Screen, Notification Center

Launching the app directly from the Home screen is much faster than navigating through several screens. However, sometimes we may not be in a position to launch the app directly from the Home screen. But, that doesn’t mean that we should give up right away. After all, you’ve made a great looking shortcut of the app and that doesn’t mean you have to delete it right away.

You can always ‘pin’ or save an app as a shortcut on the Overview page, which is accessible through the multitasking interface. In this page, there are some icons, which are not displayed in the apps screen. You can pin any icon to this page. By doing so, you can access the app directly from the Overview page.

How to save an app as a Home screen shortcut:

Go to the Apps section of the Overview page by swiping up from the bottom of the screen. Select the app that you want to pin or save as a shortcut on the Home screen. Now, you will be able to select the All Apps button. Tapping on that button, you will be redirected to the app’s page. Select the Home button icon on the overview page. Select the pin icon on the page to pin it to the Overview page. Now, you can go to the Home screen directly from the Overview page.

We recommend using Settings to confirm that the app is already available on your phone.

That’s all there is to it. And this is the trick that can speed up the way you access your favorite apps. Well, we’re sure this will work on other apps too. But, if it doesn’t, you can always create a ‘shortcut panel’ which can be dragged from the multitasking interface to the Overview page.
